Phones have come along way since their first invention in the late 1800s. Back then phones were huge, taking up half of a wall. Since then to now, phones are getting smaller and smaller, there are phones small enough to fit on your ear. Think about how far they've come. This may look a bit familiar,

Surprisingly, this IS considered a cell phone! You are probably thinking no way this is what we used in the "dinosaur times" but, yep, people did use it, and they thought it was small. The real name of this phone is the Motorola DynaTAC. Sounds high tech, really isn't. Though this phone looks centuries old, its only around 20 years old! Surprising right?

Today, Phones are super high tech, touch screens and all. The power of a computer, in the palm of your hand. There are many smart phones, but there are two that are very popular, though both are almost "enemies".

Smart phones are becoming such a trend, that when you think of a phone, one of those ^^^^ comes into mind! Remember flip phones, they are still in use, but are slowly losing popularity. Smartphones are becoming more and more affordable, the more that are made. The iPhone 3GS is under 40$ now. Hopefully in the coming days EVERYONE will have a smartphone, you never know, in the future we may have computers that can fit in our pockets.
